1. Accordion Hooks to Hang Jewelry

I’ve had a jewelry box for years but in the last few years Ive collected costume jewelry, I’ve had no where to store it with out it getting tangled up into a HUGE mess of necklace. Then I would never wear it often because it wasn’t easy to see or coordinate with my outfits. As I looked & looked I found some jewelry displays online that I liked and would work BUT they were pretty spendy. I didn’t want to pay $75 to display my jewelry. I’d rather spend $75 ON jewelry. Then I found these accordion hooks at the Dollar Tree.

2. Ponytail Holder

I had a hard time keeping my girls’ ponytail holders together for a long time. I’m not sure if I thought of this, or saw it floating around the interwebs, but now I keep them all on a carabiner. They all stay together, and you can easily get off the ones you need. Plus, they are easy to grab and go in case you are running out of the house late and have to do your girls’ hair at your son’s football game.

3. Use Small Storage Holders

When you only have one cabinet, make the most of it. You can also DIY these holders with small office supply organizers and mounting tape. Use small storage solutions like StickOnPods ($10.99) to make it easier to find your stuff in the bathroom!

4. Storing Art Supplies

I needed storage for all those markers and pens that could be put up and out of the way and look good in a play room where I would prefer he drew.

For the set up I purchased the Ikea Asker rail and matching hooks, which I also used in creating my command centre.  From the local two dollar store, I picked up a few brightly coloured buckets to hang of the hooks.

In a few quick minutes I had attached the rail to the wall above my other Ikea purchases, Trofast storage units and the pens and pencils were safely about of reach of sneaky little hands. Head to There Was a Crooked House for more details and other great ideas!
